Kaul Singh demands recommendation of committees on road safety
Shimla, Nov 6 (UNI) Himachal Congress president Kaul Singh Thakur today charged that recommendations made by various committees on road safety were not being fully implemented in the state leading to accidents like the one at Kufri, in which 46 people died.
''The Kaul committee on Road accidents in 1982 and later, the Goswami Commission in 2000, had recommended various safety measures to avert road accident in the hill state but now these reports and recommendations are fathering dust in Roadways offices,'' Mr Thakur, told UNI here today.
''The authorities seemed content with expressing condolences whenever a mishap took place and no one seemed serious about implementing the recommendations to check mishaps,'' Mr Thakur said.
