HP inks agreement with two IT companies

Shimla, Nov 6 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Government today entered into an agreement with two IT companies, Samtech Infonet Ltd and 3-I Infotech Ltd, for executing its two major projects -- Content Service Provider (CSP) for updating State specific contents in the National Portal of India (NPI) and consultancy project for the creation of State Data Centre (SDC).

The agreement was signed by Subhasish Panda, Director of Information Technology on behalf of the Government of Himachal Pradesh, an official spokesman said.

The Central Government has launched a National Portal with an objective to provide a single window access to variety of citizen services being provided by the Indian Government across sectors and States and UTs.

The online access to government services right from obtaining licenses and certificates to filing tax returns, from applying for a passport and visa to getting the name included in electoral rolls and from registering a company to booking a train ticket on the internet, all shall be available on the portal.

All the state governments are supposed to enrich the National Portal by adding more and more state specific contents.

As per the agreement Samtech Ltd , Content Service Providers (CSP) for state, will identify the state specific contents to be contributed to the National Portal of India (NPI), compile the same and publish it on the National Portal and will also maintain the content contributed to the NPI during the period of contract in liaison with the concerned Government departments.
