Hamilton vows never to leave McLaren

By Staff

London, Nov 6 : Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton had an emotional homecoming at the McLaren headquarters where he expressed his gratitude to 1800 employee who contributed in shaping his future, and said he is not going to leave the F1 team.

"All of these trophies are your hard work. We've won together, we've lost together and now we are world champions," The Telegraph quoted Hamilton, as saying.

"I'm going nowhere. I'm with the team I've always dreamt of driving for, and I've got the car I always wanted - so why change? I don't know how long I'll be in F1 - but I want to see my career out with this team, and that's my plan," he added.

He further said: "When I used to visit here when I was younger, I would always touch Ayrton Senna's car, touch Mika Hakkinen's car. Every time I walked down this boulevard I always wished that one day I would see my own car there with the No.1 on it." Now he can.

He recalled a moment at the post-race party in Sao Paulo when he sat quietly in a corner watching others celebrate his success.

"It makes me happy to make other people happy. Just looking at all the people at the party singing 'We Are the Champions'... it was so good. I'm like a sponge for positive energy," he said.
