Congress' 2nd list represents new faces, women and Muslims

Jaipur, Nov 6 (UNI) The second list of the Congress, of 30 candidates, for December 4 Rajasthan Assembly polls, has given a good representation to new faces, women and Muslims.

Among the 19 new faces figured in the list, former Deputy Chief Minister Mrs Kamla's son Alok Kumar has been fielded, for his maiden electoral battle, from Shahpura while former ministers Gulab Singh Shaktawat's son Gajendra Singh (Vallabhnagar) and Dula Ram's son Daulat Raj Nayak (Raisingh Nagar-SC) were others who have been entrusted by the party to carry the political legacy of their fathers.

Former MLA Suchitra Arya, daughter-in-law of renowned Kisan leader late Kumbha Ram Arya, has again been given ticket from her Nohar constituency, whereas former Union Minister Ramnivas Mirdha's son Harendra Mirdha, who lost the election in 2003, has again been fielded from Nagaur.

Besides Ms Arya, four more women including former ministers Bina Kak (Sumerpur) and Zakia Inam (Tonk), Shakuntala Rawat (Bansur) and Sunita Bhati(Jaisalmer) have also been nominated taking the total number of women in fray to 17.

The list includes five more Jats taking their total to 26 and as many Muslims taking their total to 14.
