Cong plea to Govt.on LTTE supporters
Puducherry, Nov 6(UNI)Office-bearers of the Congress and its affiliates here today urged the administration to take action against those supporting the banned Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam(LTTE).
In a joint statement here, PCC General Secretary Vinayagamurty,INTUC State President Ravichandran,Seva Dal President Damodaran and others pointed out that as far as Eelam Tamils issue was concerned, all people in Puducherry, irrespective of party affiliation, were giving full support.
The Congress Government had adopted a resolution in the Winter Session recently in support of the Eelam Tamils.
However, on November one, certain organisations under the banner ''Tamizhar Peravai'' organised a fast in which derogatory remarks were made against AICC President Sonia Gandhi,Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and Union Minister V Narayanasamy among others.
Hence, the police should take action against those who indulged in anti-Congress campaign under the banner ''Tamizhar Peravai' and also take stringent action against those who expressed support to the banned LTTE,they demanded.
