Bhubaneswar, Nov 6 (UNI) Banabasi Kalyan Ashram (BKA), an organisation working for the tribals in Orissa, today alleged that christian radicals were involved in the killing of RSS activist D Pradhani at Kandhmal yesterday.

BKA general secretary Laxmikanta Das told mediapersons here that the Christian insurgents were trying to create disharmony among the people.

He alleged that four youths at Brahamanigaon village had told members of peace committee that they would not attend the peace committee till they settled score with Hindu leaders Bikram, Dhanu, Chitra Sen and Arun. Dhanu was shot dead a day before the peace committee meeting, Mr Das said adding that after Swami Laxamananda Saraswati, Dhanu was gunned down as he was also opposed to conversion.

He alleged, the government instead of arresting the culprits was protecting them and harassing the innocent Hindus, implicating them on false charges.

The BKA would revolt against the government if it did not mend its ways and take tough action against the guilty, stop harassing the innocent people, Mr Das said.

Mr Das also criticised the government for blaming the Maoists whenever a hindu leader was killed and registering cases against the Hindus when a Christian is killed.

He said the police were taking the name of the Maoists to cover up their ''inefficiency'' to arrest the culprits and asked the BJP to withdraw support from the Naveen Patnaik government for taking a partisan stand.

Mr Das said though posters had appeared on August 30 and on October 31 at Brahamanigaon threatening to kill eight more Hindus including Dhanu Parhani, no step was taken by police to protect their lives.

On the other hand, the CRPF was deployed to provide security to christians at Barkhama even though there was no tension in the area.

He demanded the government to pay compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the family of Dhanu Pradhani, who was shot dead yesterday, and to provide protection to Hindus in Brahamanigaon.

Mr Das said the Laxmananda Shrdhanjali Samiti would organise country-wide dharna in front of the district collectors offices demanding immediate arrest of the killers of Swamiji and a halt on harassing the Hindus.

The Samiti would also organise a convention on November 15 here on the same demands, he said.
