Lucknow, Nov 6 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government today said the Centre has not fully released the amount payable as its share under various developmental schemes being undertaken in the state.
The schemes for which the central share had not been released included Agriculture, State Horticulture Mission, Forests, Rural Development, Golden Jubilee Rural Self Employment Scheme, National Rural Employment Gurantee Act (NREGA), Indira Awas, Rural Drinking Water Supply, Land Development and Water Resources, Rajiv Gandhi Rural Electrification Scheme (RGRES), enviromnment, Education for All, Mid-day Meal Scheme, secondary education, technical education, family welfare, Urban Planning Poverty Eradication, besides basic facilties.
The progress of development works was being marred due to this, official sources stated.
According to the information received from the Planning Department, the state had to receive Rs 15989.26 crore from the Centre for the year 2007-08 as the central share. To get this amount the state had to provide its share of Rs 3470.54 crore, but the state made a provision of Rs 3557.48 crore in the budget.
Yet the Centre had released Rs 11053.85 crore only.
