New Delhi, Nov 6 (UNI) The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today gave its approval for implementation of 110 MW 'Pare Hydro Electric Project' in Arunachal Pradesh at an estimated cost of Rs 573.99 crore.
The cost of the project, to be developed by North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Ltd (NEEPCO), includes interest during construction and financing charges of Rs 68.06 crore at June 2007 prices.
The government will fund Rs 172.20 crore in the form of equity, while Rs 401.79 crore will be raised through debt, Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office Prithviraj Chavan told mediapersons while briefing on the CCEA meeing this morning.
The power from the project, which will be commissioned in 44 months, will be utilised within the North Eastern Region (NER) itself, using the existing 132 KV transmission system of Ranganadi Hydro Electric Project to meet the Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and other NER States.
