ATS actions against Hindu org people, politically motivated: Himani
Pune, Nov 6 (UNI) Himani Savarkar, National President of the Hindu organisation ''Abhinav Bharat'', today alleged that the action taken by Maharashtra Anti-terrorism Squad (ATS) against members of Hindu organisations are 'politically motivated' and police are wrongly trying to prove existence of Hindu terrorism in the country.
Talking to reporters here, Ms Savarkar condemned the arrest of Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur in connection with the Malegaon blast on September 29. She claimed that police did not permit her to meet Pragya at the Nashik court, when she had approached them through her lawyer. She also alleged that police had threatened to arrest her if she tried to meet Pragya and termed it as ''police terrorism''.
Ms Savarkar said all Hindu organisations will soon approach the Human Rights Commission against alleged police brutality towards Pragya.
A group of Hindu organisations have opened an account with the Kotak Mahindra Bank in the name of ''Hindu Legal Aid Fund'' for fighting the legal battle of those arrested by ATS, she said.
Ms Savarkar said that she would also meet Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil in this regard. ''State government is not serious against terrorism and not doing enough to control the terrorist acts in the state, and Hindu organisations are being wrongly implicated as terrorist outfits,'' she alleged.
