Uma's slap costs about 300 resignations
Chhindwara, MP, Nov 5 (UNI) About 300 office-bearers and workers of the Bharatiya Jan Shakti's district unit resigned after BJS Founder-President and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister slapped BJS (Prahlad Patel) Madhya Pradesh unit Vice-President Anil Rai in public here today.
''I have resigned from the party. Ms Bharti did apologise to me and wanted to forget the incident but I went by the dictates of my conscience. I entered politics through the medium of the BJS and will not like to associate with any other party,'' Mr Rai told UNI over telephone. The resignations were sent to BJS District President Nemichand Verma.
To a query, Mr Rai said that he was not lodging a police complaint though several parties' leaders urged him to appeal for justice.
''I entered politics after being influenced by the ideology of former Union minister Patel and Ms Bharti,'' he added.
