Two militant surrender,one arrested in Tripura
Agartala, Nov 5 (UNI) With the pressure from security forces followed by the blasts in Assam, two militants have surrendered in Tripura during past two days as BSF mobilised extra forces on sensitive borders in the state.
NLFT(BM) extremists Matiran Reang (24) of Kanchanpur near Mizoram border surrendered before Assam Rifles on Monday and deposited a country-made gun and 24 rounds ammunition of AK47, SLR and 303 rifles, police said and added that a BNCT extremist identified as Sukajoy Tripura (33) of remote Raishyabari also surrendered with a country made gun, about 50 grams of gun powder and incriminating documents.
Assam Rifles jawans arrested another NLFT (BM) collaborator Balendra Debbarma (27) of Khowai from his house yesterday.
The paramilitary forces have revamped the security apparatus in the state and chalked out a strategy to deal with the threat posed by the terrorists across the border, police said.
