New Delhi, Nov 5 (UNI) A total of ten nominations were filed on the second day of filing nominations for the November 29 Delhi Assembly polls, the State Election Commission said.
On the second day of filing of nominations, the process for which began yesterday following the issuance of notification for the assembly polls, two Samajwadi Party candidates filed their nominations from the Patparganj and Sadar Bazar.
While Mr Jaiveer Chaudhary of the SP filed his papers from Patparganj East, Mr Ganga Singh of SP filed his candidature from Sadar Bazar.
One candidate from the Justice Party of India, Premchand Prajapati filed his nomination from Uttam Nagar while seven independents filed their nominations.
The process of filing of nomination for polls to the 70-member House began yesterday with issuance of notification by the State Election Commission.
No nominations were filed on the first day.
As per the notification, November 11 has been fixed as the last date for filing of nominations, scrutiny of which will be done on November 12.
The last date for the withdrawal of candidatures is November 14.
Counting of votes will be done on December 8. The term of the present Legislative Assembly of Delhi is expiring on December 17.
The Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party has declared names of candidates for 53 assembly seats while the ruling Congress today released a list of 48 candidates for the polls.
