Singer Srinivasan gets 'Kamukara Award'

Kochi, Nov 5 (UNI) Noted singer P B Srinivasan has been selected for this year's 'Kamukara Award' instituted by the 'Kamukara Foundation.' Announcing the award at a press meet here today, Foundation President Dr M Venugopal said Srinivasan had been chosen for the award considering his immense contribution to the field of music including playback singing.

The award, consisting of a plaque, citation and cash prize of Rs 25,000, will be presented at a function on November eight here.

He had sung numerous film songs under music maestros like Devarajan, Baburaj, K Raghavan, Salil Chaudhary and Dakshinamurthy.

The Foundation, which is a centre for development of music and allied arts, had been formed in memory of renowed singer Kamukara Purushothaman.
