Security raised for Chaudhan Kosi mela in Ayodhya from tomorrow
Ayodhya, Nov 5 (UNI) A tight security net has been laid in this holy city, besides a ban imposed on the plying of heavy vehicles for the famous 'Chaudhan Kosi' mela, beginning tomorrow, in the wake of the recent terror attacks in the country.
Providing details about the arrangements, Superintendent of Police (SP) Gyaneshwar Tiwari today said a posse of policemen have been deployed on the mela premises for better security.
Besides the local police, six Additonal Superintendent of Police (ASP), eight Deputy SP, 16 Inspectors, 85 sub-inspectors and over 500 sleuths have been garrisoned in the area, he informed.
Six companies of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), two companies of Rapid Action Force (RAF), and anti-bomb disposal squad have also been pressed into service.
Barring ambulance, Mortuary van and dairy vans, the entry of heavy vehicls have been restricted till November 8, the SP added.
