Sarah Palin's pal turns her into calendar girl

London, November 5 : Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has been turned into a calendar girl by one of her friends, who has served as her as Deputy Mayor in Wasilla.

Judy Patrick's calendar shows Palin as posing with a gun, and included dozens of her pictures clicked while she was on the job and at home with her family.

In one of the images, Palin is wrapped in the American flag, with a sidebar of pictures of her and her children.

"This flag photo was taken just days after the terrorist attacks on 9/11 in 2001," British tabloid The Sun quoted the caption as saying. Sarah, like the rest of the nation, was trying to cope with the attacks on American soil and demonstrating her patriotism," the caption added.

Judy Patrick, who is selling the merchandise, said that she was wary not to exploit her friendship with the Palin family.

She revealed that she had tried to contact Palin's husband, Todd, through e-mail to ask whether he would have any problem with the calendar.

However, Judy added, she went ahead with her plans because Todd never replied to her mail.

Judy, who has known Palin since 1996, said that she needed money to buy a new home in Anchorage, which was out of her price range.

"I'm hoping to sell enough calendars to make a healthy down payment," she said.

The calendar costs 15.95 dollars, and has an initial 30,000 print run.
