Russia hopes for new US approach under Obama: Foreign Ministry
Moscow, Nov 5 (UNI) Russian Foreign Ministry today said it hoped that US President-elect Barack Obama will take a different approach from his predecessor, outgoing President George W Bush on global issues, including relations with Russia.
''The news of the US presidential election results shows that we can all hope for fresh approaches from the US on all the most complex of issues, including foreign policy and relations with Russia,'' Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin said in a statement.
''We hope that the new atmosphere in our relations will bring with it constructiveness in meeting the new threats and challenges of the 21st century and help us establish good bilateral contacts on foreign policy, economic, and finance issues,'' Mr Karasin said.
