Chandigarh, Nov 5 (UNI) The Haryana government has earmarked Rs 500 crore for 2008-09 for the construction and maintenance of modern buildings of hospitals, mini secretariat, judicial complexes, community health centres, polytechnics, industrial training institutes and jails in the state.
Stating this here today, Haryana PWD (B&R) Minister Ajay Singh Yadav said the state government had launched a drive in the state to provide latest look to the government buildings for creating conducive environment.
Besides, new modern buildings were also being constructed in the state to meet the demand of the people.
Capt Yadav said that during the last financial year, a sum of Rs 352 crore were incurred for construction of buildings in the state.
He said the construction work of the various buildings costing about Rs 1000 crore was under construction in the state.
The Minister said during the next financial year, 40 major buildings costing Rs 120 crore and 28 buildings (as deposit work) costing Rs 58 crore would be taken up in the state.
