Rohit Monserrate remanded in 3-day police custody
Panaji, Nov 5 (UNI) Rohit Monserrate, accused of sexually abusing a German minor girl and son of Goa Education Minister Atanasio Monserrate, was sent in three-day's police custody by Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Mapusa, north Goa today.
Rohit surrendred before Calangute police yesterday. Police after completing all formalities arrested him under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and section 8 of the Goa Children's Act 2003 for raping the minor girl.
The arrest was made in the light of accusation by the 14-year- old girl's mother that Rohit had sexually abused her daughter. The mother made this accusation after going through SMSs sent by Rohit.
