RJD MPs and MLAs on resignation spree on Maharashtra violence
Patna, Nov 05 (UNI) Altogether ten Lok Sabha members, two Rajya Sabha members, 35 MLAs and MLCs of the RJD have so far tendered their resignations to party supremo Lalu Prasad on the issue of attacks on Biharis in Maharashtra.
National spokesperson of the party Shyam Rajak said here today that its elected representatives had tendered their resignations on the call of party supremo Lalu Prasad to protest the attack on Biharis in Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra.
''The other MPs and MLAs will also submit their resignations to Mr Prasad soon,'' Mr Rajak said, adding the step had been taken to protect the interest of Biharis.
The enmasse resignations of all the party MPs would help in raising the issue of attack on Biharis and also protecting their interests in Maharashtra and other parts of the country, he added.
Earlier, Mr Prasad had given a call to his party MPs and MLAs to resign by November 15 to protest the incidents of violence against Biharis in Maharashtra and other parts of the state.
He had also exuded confidence that other political parties would also reciprocate the gesture and ensure resignation of their MPs and MLAs by November 15.
