Pratibha Patil mourns Vijaya Kumar's death

New Delhi, Nov 5 (UNI) President Pratibha Patil today mourned the death of former Kerala Legislator and veteran personality in the coopeative sector B Vijayakumar, who died in Thiruvanthapuram yesterday.

In a condolence message, Ms Patil said " Vijayakumar was an untiring advocate of the cooperative movement. He truly understood the benefits of the movement in the banking sector for society in general and the common man in particular. This was reflected in the work which he put in as the President of the National Federation of Urban Cooperative Banks and Credit societies.

''In his passing away the cooperative movement has lost one of its leading advocates as well as a valuable member''.

Mr Vijayakumar died following a prolonged illness.
