Police nabs woman warden for connivance in jail tunnel case
Ambala, Nov 5 (UNI) The Police team probing the sensational central jail tunnel digging case has arrested a woman jail warden for alleged connivance with hardcore criminals.
The woman warden Poonam, who was today produced in the local court, however, was granted bail by the court.
According to police, the investigations had revealed that the accused was ''hand in glove'' with the criminals who were planning a jail break by digging a tunnel in the cell of one condemned prisoner Sanjiv Kumar.
The police claimed that Poonam was assisting these criminals and had provided them facilities to talk to people from outside the jail to manage the escapade.
More officials, including some senior ones, were likely to be found guilty of conniving with the criminals, said police sources.
