MP CM has only Rs 30,000 in hand: affidavit
Sehore, MP, Nov 5 (UNI) When it comes to money in hand, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has merely Rs 30,000 and his wife Sadhna Singh has only Rs 35,000 as per the affidavit submitted by Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Chouhan along with his nomination papers from this district's Budhni assembly constituency today.
Mr Chouhan has Rs 10.50 lakh in banks and other financial institutions and his better half Rs 1.80 lakh. The Chief Minister owns gold ornaments weighing 64 g and costing about Rs 78,000 and Ms Singh owns 470 g of gold ornaments costing Rs 6.90 lakh.
Mr Chouhan possesses a revolver worth Rs 1.05 lakh and household goods costing roughly Rs 1.80 lakh.
The sole four-wheeler owned by the Chief Minister's family is an Ambassador car registered in his wife's name just as a Rs 36-lakh warehouse in Vidisha district's Bais village. Mr Chouhan owns approximately eight acres of land, worth about Rs 5.5. lakh, in Sehore and Vidisha districts.
A residential plot and flat in Bhopal besides a duplex in the state capital's Rivera township -- costing a total of roughly Rs 27 lakh -- are in Ms Singh's name. The Chief Minister owns a flat in Vidisha. Insurance policies and National Savings Certificates also exist in the names of the couple's sons Kartikeya, Kunal and other members of the family.
