The sale of cement for the quarter ending September, surged by 26.67 per cent. Last year, the sale during the second quarter was 8.5 lakh, the company said in a release here today.
The total income of the company for the half-year ending September was Rs 877 crore, as against Rs 717 crore over the corresponding period last year, showing an increase of 22.2 per cent and the net Profit After Tax for the half-year was Rs 90.65 crore.
The total gross income of the company during the financial year, expected to be more than Rs 1,850 crore, has business interests in two major segments, Cement and Sugar. It's cement plants in Tamil Nadu has a capacity to churn out 3.5 million tonnes of cement per annum. The three integrated sugar mills of the company in Uttar Pradesh with a total installed capacity of 22,500 tonnes of cane crush per day manufacutured about 300,000 tonnes per annum.
The company will expand its cement footprint in south India with the launch of two Greenfield projects, each of 2.25 mn tonnes capacity, at Cuddapah, Andhra Pradesh and at Ariyalur in Tamil Nadu, the release said.
