Lucknow, Nov 5 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) today carried out a massive agitation across the state against the anti-North Indian diatribe of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president Raj Thackeray in Mumbai recently.
After laying wreaths in memory of the victims in the party's cities and district units, the agitating Congressmen set on fire the growing terrorism in effigy and demanded the implementation of National Security Act (NSA) against the MNS chief, UPCC sources said.
In Lucknow, the mob staged a dharna in front of Vidhan Bhawan and burnt Mr Thackeray in effigy.
Altogether 50 activists were also detained in the statewide protest, sources added.
Four people of UP -- Dr Om Prakash Dubey and Dr Mayur Dubey of Jaunpur, Jai Mangal of Faizabad and Dharamdev Rai of Sant Kabirnagar -- were killed in the MNS attacks.
