Coimbatore: Govt to enhance skill of workers

Coimbatore, Nov 5: A skill development inititave for people without a sound educational qualification to make them employable has been taken up by the Employment and Training Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu and the Human Resources Development Department of the Government of India. According to a release, the training will be offered by Industrial Training Institute (ITI) on Mettupalayam Road in Coimbatore and Industrial Training Institute for Women and the Institute at Tirupur on Dharapuram Road. School dropouts, those in semi-skilled jobs, those who have passed out of ITIs, and those with a minimum qualification of Class V (passed) can make use of the training.

The training will be offered in association with industries. Those who successfully complete it will be given certificates from the National Council for Vocational Training.
