Chandigarh, Nov 4 (UNI) Veteran freedom fighter Chaudhary Ranbir Singh Hooda, the only surviving member of the Constituent Assembly of India and father of Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, will be honoured with 'Banarsi Dass Gupta Rashtra Gaurav Puruskar.' The award would be given by the Banarsi Dass Gupta Foundation on the occasion of Banarsi Dass Gupta Jayanti Samaroh at Balayogi Auditorium, Parliament House, New Delhi tomorrow.
Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil will be chief guest in the function which will be presided by Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and attended by Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal, Union Minister of State for Finance Pawan Bansal and Union Minister of State for Coal Santosh Bagrodia among others.
The first 'Banarsi Dass Gupta Rashtra Gaurav Puruskar' was given to veteran freedom fighter Nirmala Despande and Ch Ranbir Singh Hooda is the second personality being honoured with this teh award.
The occasion will be marked by releasing of a biography of the veteran freedom fighter and former Haryana Chief Minister Banarsi Dass Gupta.
