New Delhi, Nov 4 (UNI) A new political party has been launched with the objective of protecting the minorities and fighting for their fundamental rights.
Named ''Indian Minority Front,'' the party was launched here yesterday with Mr Rajiv Joseph as its national President.
''The organised attacks on minorities in different parts of India, the silence on the part of major secular political parties and the failure of central and state governments in taking action against the culprits have led to the formation of our party,'' Mr Joseph told UNI here today.
He said the party would seek recognition from the Election Commission.
A meeting held here yesterday in connection with the formation of the party condemned the recent attacks on Christians in Orissa and Karnataka and expressed its serious concern over the inability of the central and state governments in ensuring justice for the victims.
