Bangalore, Nov 4 (UNI) Karnataka High Court today rejected the bail application of Chand Pasha, one of the accused in the December 2005 Indian Institute of Science (IISc) attack case in which one Scientist from Delhi was killed.

After hearing the arguments, single Judge Ashok B Hinchigeri dismissed Pasha's bail application and ordered the trial court to speedily dispose of the case, which is currently pending before the city civil court.

The government counsel made a strong objection against Pasha's bail plea, stating that granting bail would be improper as he was a member of the banned Lashkar-e-Toiba group and had connections with terrorist elements in Saudi Arabia.

Pasha was allegedly providing monetary help to persons arrested in connection with the IISc attack case. During police interrogation, Mahammad Razur Rehaman, one of the main accused in the case, revealed that Pasha had also master minded a few other attacks on major buildings and science centres across the country.

Police had arrested Pasha on January 14, 2006, along with six others.

His bail application was also rejected earlier by a lower court on January 29 this year after which he had appealed in the High Court.
