Mangaluru, Nov: An exhibition of life style jute products jointly organised by the Jute Manufactures Development Council and the National Centre for Jute Diversification, was inaugurated by District in-Charge Minister J Krishna Palemar at Hotel Woodlands Auditorium here on Monday, Nov 3.
Jute Fair brings together jute product manufacturers from all over the country without the interference of middlemen.
The products of international standard include mainly jute bags, ornaments, footwear, carpets, cushion covers, wall hangings, handicraft and gift items. Around 15 stalls have been put up for exhibition and sale by manufacturers of various products apart from a theme pavilion that showcases eco-friendly low cost jute items. The main objective of the exhibition is to provide a platform for jute manufacturers to sell their products at the same time promote usage of jute among the public as an eco-friendly alternative to plastic.
