Melbourne, Nov 4 (UNI) Michael Hussey will line up for Chennai Super Kings in the inaugural Champions League, while his state team will enter the Twenty20 tournament without its star player as the left-hander opted for his IPL franchise over Western Australia.

The WACA released its 15-man squad for next month's lucrative tournament to be played in India and Hussey's name did not appear in that list.

However, the Warriors will be compensated for the loss of Hussey with a huge six-figure transfer fee from the Super Kings.

In the three games that Hussey played for Super Kings, he scored 168 runs at an average of 84 and with a strike rate of 168.

But even without Hussey, the Western Australian team still looks a formidable outfit with names like Shaun Marsh, Luke Pomersbach and Luke Ronchi in it.

The trio was part of the inaugural IPL but since their respective teams dailed to finish among the top two team in the tournament, all the three players are eligible to play for their state team in the Champions League.

''Many of the players we have selected have the experience of playing in India, whether that be on national duty, in the Indian Premier League or on our pre-season tours,'' team coach Tom Moody said.

Left-handed Shaun Marsh was one of the most promising talents in the IPL that came into the limelight and finished as the leading run scorer in the Twenty20 tournament.

The Warriors will begin their Champions League campaign in Bangalore against Pakistan's Twenty20 champions Sialkot Stallions on December 4.

IPL champions and the Shane Warne-led Rajasthan Royals and South Africa's Nashua Dolphins join Western Australia and the Stallions in group B.

Victoria, Channai Super Kings, South African domestic champions Nashua Titans and England's Twenty20 Cup premiers Middlesex form Group B in the tournament.

WA squad: Marcus North (capt), Adam Voges (vice-capt), David Bandy, Arron Crawford, Liam Davis, Brett Dorey, Theo Doropoulos, Ben Edmondson, Aaron Heal, Matt Johnston, Trent Kelly, Steve Magoffin, Shaun Marsh, Luke Pomersbach, Luke Ronchi.
