Governor focuses on e-governance
Kohima, Nov 04 (UNI) Taking note of the poor network coverage in the state, Nagaland Governor K Sankaranarayanan has urged the BSNL and other mobile phone networks to ensure coverage of the remotest of the villages and also all the National and State Highways.
Inaugurating a two-day session of the Capacity Building Workshops on e-governance for policy makers here yesterday, the Governor pointed out that a healthy competition between vendors who offer good technology at good cost was essential, but stated that even reputed companies failed to comply with their own standards of after sales services in most of the North Eastern States.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio said e-governance had become synonymous with good administration and urged the policy makers to embrace it and use it as an instrument to transform the system and address the socio-economic challenges effectively.
The policy makers, attending the two-day workshop, included Legislators, Members of Commission, Administrative Heads of Departments, Secretaries, Additional Secretaries, Heads of Departments and Departmental IT Nodal Officers.
