Hyderabad, Nov 4 (UNI) Deputy Executive Engineer in Sub-Division I of Rajahmundry was arrested by the ACB officials today for accepting bribe of Rs 5,000 from the complainant for doing an official favour.
The amount was recovered from Donthamsetty Satyanarayana, who would be produced before Special Judge for ACB and SPE cases, Vijayawada, a press release here said.
Meanwhile, the State Government ordered permanent withholding of pension and gratuity in full of Guntur Divisional Panchayat Officer Mattam Rudramma, now retired, following her conviction by Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Vijayawada.
Earlier, the accused was trapped by ACB officials on June four, 2004 for accepting bribe of Rs 500 from the complainant for doing an official favour.
In another trap case, Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Nellore, sentenced to two-year rigorous imprisonment the Associate Professor and in-charge Head of the Department of Oncology, S V R R Government General Hospital in Tirupati, and imposed a fine of Rs 2,000 for offence under section 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of the PC Act, 1988.
The judge also ordered K V Raghavaiah to undergo one-year rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 for the offence under Section 7 of the P C Act, the press release added.
Earlier, he was trapped by ACB officials on March eight, 2004 when he accepted Rs 1,000 as bribe from the complainant for providing speedy treatment to his mother who was suffering from oral cancer.
ACB officials last evening arrested the APEPDCL Additional Assistant Engineer in Visakhapatnam District for accepting Rs 10,000 as bribe from the complainant for doing an official favour.
The amount was recovered from Dhanamkonda Pitchaiah who would be produced before Third Additional District and Sessions Judge-cum-ACB Cases, Visakhapatnam.
