Devanshi, Nanwani, Jain enter second round of Walchand Tennis Cup

Pune, Nov 4 (UNI) Maharashtra players Devanshi Bhimjiyani, Simran Nanwani and Krutika Jain won close battles to move into the second round of the girls event at the Walchand Cup under-16 National Series Tennis Tournament', being played at the Deccan Gymkhana tennis courts here.

In the first round, Devanshi scraped past Delhi's Shubh Gulati 6-2, 6-7 (7-5), 6-0, while Nanwani won a three hour tussle against Andhra Pradesh player Sayedah Rehnuma 6-3, 2-6, 6-1 and in the closest match of the day Krutika Jain (Mah) managed to put out Gujarat's Aishwarya Mahida 6-2, 2-6, 7-6(7-5).

In the boys second round, all the sixteen seeds sailed into the pre quarterfinals round without much effort.
