Hyderabad, Nov 4 (UNI) The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) today demanded an explanation from the family members of Former Chief Minister N T Rama Rao, including Mr Harikrishna, on why they joined hands with Former Chief Minister and TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu whom they had criticised after being sidelined from the TDP.
Addressing the press with Mr G Rudra Raju and Ms Ganga Bhavani, Mr V Vasantha Kumar, MLA, claimed it was the responsibility of Mr Harikrishna and his family members to explain to the people what prompted them to join hands with Mr Naidu, who had sidelined them after he came to power by ''backstabbing'' TDP Founder-President N T Rama Rao.
He alleged Mr Harikrishna, following differences with his brother-in-law Chandrababu Naidu, had floated a new political party Anna Telugu Desam Party and criticised Mr Naidu for his anti-people policies.
He also released the copies of statements of Mr Harikrishna and Mr N T Rama Rao criticising Mr Naidu.
The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee today termed the TDP's proposed 'Yuva Garjana' at Guntur tomorrow as 'Vruddha Garjana' as it was not convened by youth.
Party Spokespersons N Tulasi Reddy and P Venkata Rao said the TDP was organising the progamme with NTR family members Harikrishna and Balakrishna who had crossed 45 years of age.
They claimed the youth was supporting the ruling Congress Party as the government had initiated several programmes for the welfare of the youth, including creating employment for them.
They claimed the TDP would disappear after 2009 elections in the State.
