In a hassle, the Governor, who was about to attend the convocation as the chief guest, had also cancelled his visit and also sought clarification into the change in Mr Gandhi's programme from the officials.

Earlier, it was reported that the VC's action of bringing a change in Mr Gandhi's programme was on the behest of the UP government, but later the state governmnet had denied its hand and termed it a matter of concern of the university.

Despite all the hurdles, the Congress leader had, however, met the students of the university in the canteen.
