Jammu, Nov 4: As many as 194 civilians crossed the Line of Control (LoC) from Chakan-Da-Bagh in Poonch district in weekly Poonch-Rawlakote bus service, official spokesman on Tuesday, Nov 4 said. While 116 civilians crossed over to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), 78 civilians travelled to this side, the spokesman said.
''Besides 63, who returned to their home towns in PoK after meeting their separated relatives and friends, 53 were first time visitors to the other part of Jammu and Kashmir,'' the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, 36 PoK visitors entered into Jammu and Kashmir along with 42 people, who returned after staying with their relatives on the other side of the LoC, he informed.
The crossing point remained open till 1700 hrs on Monday, Nov 3.
Opening of the LoC at Chakan-Da-Bagh point for people-to-people contact between two sides of Jammu and Kashmir is a part of several Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) initiated by India and Pakistan.
