Thakare demands loan waiver for regular payers
Mumbai, Nov 3 (UNI) Getting into the mode of election, due next year, Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Manikrao Thakare today demanded a loan waiver for farmers, who were paying regular installments of their loans.
Mr Thakare told UNI that the loan waiver was a great relief, however, farmers, who were paying the installments regularly, were left without benefits. They should also get advantage, he said.
He said a delegation of MPCC would call on chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh on the issue.
The total amount of loan waiver for these farmers could be around Rs 5,000 crore, he added.
