Srinagar, Nov 3 (UNI) Deciding to organise seminars in different parts of the country to attract tourists, the Travel Agents Association of Kashmir (TAAK) and tourism associations of different states today made an appeal to the media to present a true picture of Kashmir outside.
The TAAK delegation, led by its president Rauf Tramboo, held a meeting with tour operators and travel agents of different states who are presently on a trip to the Kashmir valley.
Mr Tramboo said they discussed the present tourism scenario in the valley at length and agreed to work together for the development and the promotion of tourism in the state.
In the meeting it was decided that TAAK will hold different Kashmir tourism related road shows in collaboration with the tourism bodies of different states and organise seminars on Kashmir with an objective of encouraging tourism.
Further a, joint appeal was made to the journalists working for national and international electronic and print media to portray Kashmir in a positive manner with factual details so that the tourism promotion and development of Kashmir tourism does not get hampered.
This was the first such meeting after the Kashmir tourism suffered a major set back due to strikes, curfew and agitation on Shri Amarnath Shrine land row.
