Punjab archers bags gold in compound and recurve segments

Vijayawada, Nov 3 (UNI) Surinder Singh and Kapil of Punjab University won golds in the compound and recurve 90 M men's segments respectively in the five-day all-India inter-university archery championship being held at Siddhartha Medical College here today.

Surinder Singh scored 318 points out of 360 while Kapil got 304.

Amrinder Singh, also of Punjab, got silver (314 points) while Prashant B Shinde of Dr B A M University finished with bronze (298 points) in the 90 M men's compOund segment.

In the recurVe 90 M men's segment, Manoj Kumar B M of Bangalore university got silver (288 points) and Prabhat Kandir of Ranchi university got bronze (275 points).

In other matches, Kapil of Punjab also got gold in recurve 70 M event scoring 327 points.

H Netaji Meitei of Manipur university got silver (318) and Manoj Kumar B M of Bangalore university receive bronze (313 points).

Kapil scored a hattrick by winning gold om recurve 50 M event by getting 322 points, Amar Jadav of SGB university got silver (317), while Bangalore university's Manoj Kumar B M got the bronze (313 points).

In the men s compound 50 M event, Dr B A M University's Jaipal Kashyap secured gold (345 points), Abhishek Verma of Delhi got silver (328) and Amarnath of Ranchi university got bronze (327 points).
