HP Cabinet increases 35 MBBS seats in IGMC

Shimla, Nov 3 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Cabinet today increased the MBBS seats in Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla from existing 65 to 100.

The Cabinet, presided over by Chief Minister Prem Kumar, also increased 9 seats in post graduate courses and sanctioned 45 posts of different categories to meet the increased demand of teachers and supporting staff.

It further decided to increase 11 seats in the post graduate courses in five different departments of the Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Kangra at Tanda and sanctioned 12 posts of teachers to shoulder the additional teaching responsibility.

The Himachal Cabinet granted one time relaxation in Recruitment and Promotion Rules for filling up 50 percent of the posts of Assistant Professors by promotion in IGMC and Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Kangra at Tanda from amongst the joint roaster of the GDO category.
