Haryana institutes 2 awards for scientists
Chandigarh, Nov 3 (UNI) The Haryana government has instituted two awards 'Haryana Vigyan Ratna' and 'Haryana Yuva Vigyan Ratna' to honour eminent scientists of the state who have made outstanding contribution in the field of Science and Technology.
Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said the awards would be conferred on those eminent scientists who were either born in Haryana or had spent a considerable part of their career/studies in Haryana.
Mr Hooda said 'Haryana Vigyan Ratna' award, which would be given to the scientists above 40 years of age, would carry a cash prize of Rs one lakh, a citation and a trophy and 'Haryana.
'Yuva Vigyan Ratna' award, which would be given to the scientists upto the age of 40 years, would carry a cash prize of Rs 50000, a citation and a trophy.
The awards would be given on annual basis beginning this year, he added.
