Patna, Nov 3 (UNI) Obeisance to Sun God is usually given on the banks of the rivers, lakes and ponds in Chhath festival but during the past few years, some of the devotees are opting to do the same on roof tops and others especially dug ditches.

In Patna, lakhs of devotees offer Arghya to Sun God on the banks of river Ganges, but at some places it had changed the course and shifted away from the township areas. Some of the ghats on the bank of Ganges are not safe and people of the surrounding localities are opting to make arrangements on their roof tops or especially dug ditches.

In other parts of the state, the local administration has made efforts to clean the ghats on the bank of rivers but devotees of remote areas are still preferring to make arrangement for Arghya to the Sun God on their roof tops.

The state government has also instructed the officers to ensure uninterupted power and water supply for smooth and hassle-free celebration of the Chhath festival.

Elaborate security arrangements had also been made at all places where large number of devotees are expected to offer Arghya to the Sun God during the Chhath.
