Congress, NCP taking political mileage on Maharashtra issue: Singh
Jamui, Nov 3 (UNI) Former Union Minister and senior JD(U) leader Digvijay Singh today alleged that Congress and NCP were trying to derive political mileage in Maharashtra from the rift between MNS Chief Raj Thackeray and Shiv Sena Chief Bal Thackeray.
Mr Singh told reporters here that Congress and NCP were responsible for encouraging the disruptive elements in Maharashtra as both the parties were trying to take political mileage from the rift between the Thackerays.Both the Thackerays had same vote bank and it was politically advantageous for Congress and NCP if the rift between MNS and Shiv Sena chief got sharper, he added.
''Our Constitution has given the fundamental rights to every citizen to earn livelihood in any part of the country without facing any sort of discrimination,'' he pointed out and said the government had constutional obligation to protect the fundamental rights of the citizen and should take stringent action against the elements trying to infringe it.
Mr Singh also demanded that Raj Thackeray should be booked under the charges of sedition for fanning hatred among the people on the basis of regional sentiments in Maharashtra.
