Cong promises to provide free power to poor in C'garh
Raipur, Nov 3 (UNI) The Congress has promised to provide free electricity and rice at Rs two per kg to poor on returning to power in Chhattisharh.
Former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi made the announcement while kick-starting poll campaign from Mahasamund yesterday, though the Congress is yet to release its poll manifesto.
He promised that loans of farmers not coming under the loan waiver scheme of the Centre would be waived although it would cost the state exchequer Rs 300 crore.
Party sources said party workers at various level had suggested to include certain points like preventing people from other states to purchase land of farmers in the state and regularisation of shikshakarmis in the poll manifesto.
