Chandigarh, Nov 3 (UNI) Air Marshal P K Barbora, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Air Command, today called upon officers to be professional in work.
He was addressing the Western Air Command (WAC) Annual Flight Safety Council meeting held at 12 Wing, Air Force Station here.
The meeting was attended by over 100 representatives from the Army, Navy, Hindustan Aeronauticals Limited (HAL), Air Head Quarters, and all units of the WAC.
Mr Barbora said the flight safety is an integral part of professionalism and automatically falls in place once the approach is professional.
Earlier Air Marshal P S Bhangu, Senior Air Staff Officer (SASO), WAC delivered the opening address which was followed by a review on accidents and incidents carried out by Group Captain C P Yadav , Command Flight Safety Officer, HQ WAC.
A talk on innovative methods adopted at different stations to enhance flight and maintenance safety was delivered by Air Commodore Rahul Dhar, Air Commodore KS Gill and Sqn Ldr Anand Rao for fighters, helicopters and UAVs respectively.
During the meeting, a discussion was held on the lessons learnt in last one year, which was conducted by Group Captain A Ghotia .
Group Captain SM Adyanthaya delivered a lecture on the scope of air maintenance operations by transport aircraft and helicopters.
The meeting was also addressed by AVM Anil Chopra, officiating Director General Flight Safety at Air Headquarters.
Among the other senior officers who attended the meeting were AVM Banerjee, Air Defence Commander, WAC; AVM N Verma, SOA, WAC and AVM Anup Raha, AOC, Advance Air HQ, WAC.
All Air Officers Commanding and Station Commanders of the WAC, Command Flight Safety Officers of all Commands, the Station Flight Safety Inspection Officer (SFSIO) and engineering officers of all units also attended the meeting.
