11 killed in two separate road mishaps in K'taka
Bangalore, Nov 3 (UNI) Eleven people were killed in two major road accidents in Karnataka during the last 24 hours.
Police said six people were killed when a car in which they were travelling rammed into a truck at Doddaguni in Tumkur district, about 70 km from here, today.
While three died on the spot, the remaining three succumbed to their injuries at a hospital.
The deceased identified as Girish (25), Ramesh (26), Lokesh (24), Mahesh (25) Harsha (26) and Jagdish (28), employees of the telecom major Airtel, were going in an Esteem car to Gubbi to attend a colleague's wedding, police said.
In the other accident near Panambur Beach cross near Mangalore, five persons were killed when their Indica car collided with a private bus on the National Highway in the early hours.
They were returning to Mangalore after a sightseeing trip to Goa.
While three were killed on the spot, two died on the way to hospital. They were identified as Sheikh Sameer, Vikram Prabhu, Prem Kumar, Anwar and Leonel.
The bus was on its way to Udupi from Bangalore. The bus driver was arrested, police added.
