Kerala: Aesthetic designing of hotels, resorts
Kochi, Nov 2: Senior Architect Mahesh Narayana has stressed the need for aesthetic designing of hotels and resorts to meet global expectations.
Addressing a technical seminar on 'Global Trends in Hotels&Resorts ' organised by the Kerala Chapter of the Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID) here yesterday, Mr Mahesh said,'' the aesthetic style is picking up steadily, both in terms of domestic and international tourism, during the last few years, and it is likely to grow ''.
To exploit this welcome trend, hotels and resorts had to be spruced up to all tastes and expectations in all its areas of operations from interior designing, ambience and flow of services, especially at the restaurants, coffee-houses and kitchens, he said.
He said international architecture was now engaged in concentrating on design concepts to meet the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating system.
The LEED Rating system encouraged and accelerated global adoption of sustainable green building and development practices through the creation and implementation of universally understood and accepted tools and performance criteria, he added.
