MP: Polls to be held in dacoit-free Shivpuri
Shivpuri, MP, Nov 2: After a long time, Assembly elections in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh would be held in a peaceful atmosphere, free from terror of dacoits.
''With the wiping out of dreaded Dayaram Rambabu dacoit gang and killing of other dacoits, polling would be held in a terror-free atmosphere,'' Superintendent of Police D C Sharma said.
Though the Punjab Gujar gang had become active in the region six month back, it had become weak under constant pressure exercised by the police and was not indulging in any unlawful activities.
He said bandits had unleashed terror in Pohri, Subhashpura, Bamhori, Amola, Tendua, Boradila, Bhimpur, Turgi, Imlian and other villages in the past. Electorates have lived under constant fear of dacoits.
Mr Sharma said special caution was being exercised along the Rajasthan border so that no dacoit could enter Madhya Pradesh.
Special vigil was also being carried out in forest areas.
