Police station attacked in Srinagar, building damaged
Srinagar, Nov 2 (UNI) In yet another attack on police installations after the assembly elections were announced in the state, militants fired hand grenades towards the heavily- guarded building of Lal Bazar police station on the outskirts, causing damage to it.
Official sources today said militants fired hand grenades towards the police station building at Lal Bazar from an unknown place.
One of the grenades exploded on the roof of the building, causing damage to it.
However, no one was injured.
This was the second such incident in the valley since the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced seven-phase elections in the state from November 17.
Last week, 13 CRPF and police personnel were injured in a similar attack on police station Baramulla in north Kashmir.
