Paris, Benji fell in love 'before' his split from Monk

Melbourne, November 2 : Paris Hilton has mistakenly revealed that she and her beau Benji Madden were struck by the cupid while the rocker was still dating his Australian fiancee Sophie Monk.

The hotel heiress, who made the revelation in an exclusive interview with The Sunday Mail, said that she had been dating the 'Good Charlotte' rocker in February.

Interestingly, Monk's rep confirmed that February 12 that she and Madden had decided to put an end to their 13-month engagement.

"We've been friends for seven years and he said he always had a big crush on me, and when I finally became single it was great that we got together - it was the best," the Couriermail quoted her as saying.

On being asked if she was the real reason behind Madden-Monk split, the 27-year-old replied: "Benji and I are really in love and happy - and that's all I want to say."
